Our Story

Shapes is about learning, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, how to dress well and feel good about yourself. The concept grew out of our knowledge that when we accept ourselves and feel good about who we are, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Shapes' mission is to empower all women to embrace
their natural shape and beauty support, so that they can gain
the confidence they need to fulfill their destiny.

All of us who started Shapes believe in taking control of our lives and having fun while making a positive contribution to the world. We believe we can do that by teaching other women how to dress, live with confidence and make money along the way.
To be sure, the Shapes concept is not unique – what is unique is our enthusiasm and approach.

The notion of dressing to suit your body-type has been around for decades, however, it has never been easy to achieve. You could always buy books and wade through chapters of theory or, if you had the means, you could hire a personal consultant. But we realized, few women have the time or resources to do either.
We wanted to make Shapes accessible to everyone because we've seen the positive effect that self-confidence has on women's lives. That's why we chose the Home Party sales concept – to reach the greatest number of women possible at a price they could afford.
But we wanted Shapes to be about more than just dressing with confidence. It is very much about women supporting women. Our philosophy engenders a whole new way of looking at life.
Shapes is not about buying more and more clothes or being a slave to fashion – what it is about is taking control of your life and taking care of each other, as well as our environment. That is why we sponsor Shelternet.ca, an organization that supports abused women, and we use environmentally friendly products whenever possible.
